The PA School Performance Profile (SPP) is an online public portal designed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to provide information and resources on school quality for public schools across the Commonwealth. The SPP provides public schools with a single building-level academic score from 0 to 100, plus seven possible points for extra-credit. The building-level score is based upon indicators that define a high performing school in Pennsylvania. Unlike previous measures of our schools, the SPP utilizes many data points to measure our schools' academic strength. Several data elements included in the score are: proficiency levels on state assessments, student academic growth factor, graduation and attendance rates, and the degree of rigorous content offerings at the secondary level. While all schools receive a score, the more important aspect of this resource is that it allows us to acknowledge our strengths and use the profile as a tool for student improvement.
