Highlights from the Bloomsburg High School National Student Mock Election

For President:

Barack Obama (DEM) President and Joe Biden Vice President earned 173 votes for 64.31% of the total.

John McCain (REP) President and Sarah Palin Vice President earned 72 votes for 26.76% of the total.

Voters Issues Ballot:

Shall school be year-round? Yes – 23.39%       No – 76.6%

Shall soda be taken out of school? Yes – 15.15%        No – 84.84%

Shall school uniforms be mandatory? Yes – 9.05%     No – 90.94%

Other results indicated that the economy (43.67%), the cost and quality of health care (16.73%) and global climate change and the environment (13.87%) topped the issues that students would want government spending to help the most.

John F. Kennedy (19.92%), Abraham Lincoln (15.53%), and Bill Clinton (15.13%) were the top three vote-getters of students who were asked that if miracles could happen, which former President would you want to lead the nation.
